MBMS families are invited to join in on the third installment in MBMS PTA’s Connected families book series discussion. MBMS Vice Principal, Margot Parker, will facilitate and direct parents through large and small group discussions centered around the book: “UnSelfie, Why Empathetic Kids Succeed in Our All-About-Me World” by Michele Borba. Ed.D.

MBMS Connected Families Series provides a safe, supportive place where our parents can connect with each other and discuss issues of parenting and raising strong, self-reliant, healthy children.

This is a free event but you must sign up to attend and read all (or most) of the book.

This month’s free education events will be held at FitOn Studios, 2407 N. Sepulveda Blvd. Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.

 

Sunday, Dec. 4, 10:45 — 11:30 a.m.

This class will teach teens easy-to-use techniques to calm the mind, restore the nervous system and lower levels of the stress hormone, cortisol, so teens can focus and succeed in the classroom and beyond.

Thursday, Dec. 22, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Teens are invited to a free cycling class designed to accommodate all fitness levels. We’ll turn down the lights and turn up the volume and ride into the holiday break.

MBUSD is organizing volunteers for the charity golf tournament, South Bay Classic. The SBC has donated over $2.4 million to local schools to help fight drug and alcohol abuse and improve campus climate. We rely on your help each and every year and thank you for your continued support!
